Reasons for Online Dating

There are many reasons people turn to online dating like having trouble with finding someone in the real world or busy life styles.

I turned to online dating because I don't drive and getting to places can be transportation issues for me.

Forget taking a bus in my area but this sub driver is gone and they should've fired him years ago for often being late for people because he goes his own way instead of by the books as they would fire drivers who talk on cell phones.

I have the worst bus company and I do want to drive. Too much to explain here.

You people could here state your reason for online dating.

Being able to talk to someone without them looking at your or being near you. Being able to talk to people from all over the world. And knowing that whatever is said, you don't have to face them. Probably ever.

Makes it easier to meet or talk to people who have similar interests or are going through similar experiences as each other. It`s also not as noisy or alcohol fueled as most friday and saturday night places are, Which makes it easier to deal with and get a word in too.

`There are less inhibitions online, which is a big plus for shy people. You can be yourself or maybe someone who you've always wanted to be, or someone you think you are.
For me it's because I tend to stare into space a lot and my natural gaze is somewhat intimidating so no one is willing to approach me. And I'm too shy to do so on my own. Online, there's no chance of someone being driven away by the way my eyes settle.

`I'm shy, i can't talk to new people in person unless they approach me first, even then i don't say too much. online is easier to talk to people. nobody i know in person even seems interested in me anyway.

`Every guy I've had a somewhat close relationship was someone I'd talked to online. It's easier for me to talk people when I'm not face to face. I feel less pressure, less self-conscious. Sometimes words don't translate well from my mind to my mouth when I have a crush on a guy. So the buffer helps. I still haven't been successful at it, though. No long term legit relationships. I wonder if maybe I need be more courageous offline. Actually, I'm certain I do, haha!
