What is Wrong With Me?

Why doesn't anyone e-mail me? is there something wrong with me? or my profile? am I ugly? or just a loser? when I e-mail someone they never respond and when they do respond they don't write back after I have replied to them. I joined this site in May of 2005 and have gotten very few responses since then and none so far this year, should I just give up?

I have the same problem I'm on five of the passion network sites and wonder why no one has replied to my email. I feel like something is wrong with me.

Maybe a lot of people join up to dating sites on a whim. A 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' attitude and then it's something they forget about a few days later. Perhaps because the people who have signed up here are shy and naturally cautious the whole internet thing could be an anxiety booster.

On the other hand, replying to an email sent is the polite thing to do and isn't that why we're here? Whether or not you fall madly in love with the writer of the email isn't the issue, but perhaps a good friend could be made even if the sparks don't fly.

There's nothing wrong with you, please don't think that. It's just some people have different priorities - hang in there :)

There is nothing wrong with either of you. If I were single I would definetly be willing to give either of you a chance. I realize that is probably not really comforting but I'm want to give both of you some hope. There are still women out there who like nice guys. Remember, all good things to those who wait.

Don't think this is the most active dating site. And I don't think you can really tell if the person you e-mailed has been online recently, can you? So who knows if the person you message has even ever read your e-mail? My suggestion is to just keep e-mailing people and not get your hopes up. You develop a bit of a thick skin that way and get used to it. It's easier to do online than it is in person anyway! I used to get upset when people I messaged on these dating sites didn't write me back, but you just can't take it as a personal rejection. It takes a bit of effort to find someone who will want to talk to you, so just zip out messages to people you might like, and maybe you'll get lucky and have someone respond. Just don't get your hopes up too much, that way you'll be pleasantly surprised when you do get a reply.

God, I feel like an advice columnist. lol!

Proof that you can get people to message you back on this site!

I also just realized that you can tell if your message has been read if you go to the "Sent" area. So that's a nice function! If someone reads your message and doesn't respond, you shouldn't worry too much though.

i dont know if most people actually still use the site, i joined a few days ago and got a reply within 30 mins but thats because i got lucky, keep an eye on who is online and try chatting to them. maybe the site could delete users who are inactive for a while. I dont think theres anything wrong with you by the way

I have tried to send you a message via your profile but it won't let me as it says "This user is not accepting e-mails" (neither are you accepting smooches, as I thought i'd try that too).
I think you must have altered your profile so that you can't be contacted? Perhaps you should go to your settings and see what's wrong.

`I've noticed not only email but in the forums also there aren't very many replys to postings. Stating the obvious here..... Give people time to warm up. These people are scared and worried that maybe what they reply won't be worth anything. Believe me it takes time with shy people LOTS of time.

This thread is pretty old but I'll add my opinion.

If you think that you are a loser or have extra difficulty finding women, you are going to act desperate when you talk to them and it will drive them away.

Heck, I have one woman I met on another site who texts me all the time. She drives me nuts as she is so needy. Only wants *** all the time, all she talks about.

I really get turned off by that and women get put off by the very same thing.
