I was wondering why it has become to make new friends so hard, or is it really hard o.O? OK, when I recall from pass, I was kind running around and playing in a sand-box. We were playing hide and seek or "catch me if you can" and many kids joined in. Then there were soccer where always you got new people to meet and play against, that made you more friends with team-mates because you had to interact with them for same goal.
That leads to first discovery -- common goal.

So now I am older and I visit music events where bands play and young artists do crazy stuff. I was on one such event and bounced into 2 female friends, we chilled most of the night together, still I wanted to chat with all the others too, but didn't found nice way to initiate conversation Very Happy

It has to do something with inner feeling when you look crowd you somehow start to see people who might be like you, it does not matter girl or boy. Now when you make eye connection with them and they hold it longer it kind of a gives a green light to try and chat with them.

It' s weekend and 2-day festival is going on, I was yesterday there and it was ok, today I'm going there too. There were not many cosy places to chill so I do like some people did and take beach blanket with me so we could have drinks and enjoy music + sunset. That event is near seaside.

Key is to be friendly and confident, there is no wrong sentenses, no need to put yourself down.
When I have visited friends place, we have started chat about everyday small things and room-mates have joined in, then it' s small group where I feel myself better and by small things and eye looks you radiate outside someone finds it cosy and you get better connection with her.

Any tips, opinions, ideas always welcome, write something down and I will reply Very Happy!

`Lol, yeah when you're a kid it's easy, especially at school since you forced to be around one another, but things get complicated as you get older, there's a whole myriad of social etiquette and if you don't know the rules you come off as weird at the beginning.

One of the coolest friends i've met, sounded real weird first time he talked to me, i remember hoping he'd just go away but later we became awesome friends.

Anyway that's one of my observations, i don't think humans were originally meant to have this big rule book, since we were probably made for living in smaller tight-knit villages (naturally speaking) and since the population is so large, the rule have become very different and a little complicated.

This forum would be a nice place for people to meet but it needs to be more active, i'm not a shy person, i'm introverted so i guess i can't fully understand what some are going through, but start chatting here, no-one here is gonna bite since it's all shy people or introverts =)

`I have met people through traveling. I usually travel by train when traveling long distance. Many people on the train are approachable. I think that joining clubs or groups of interest may be worth a shot at meeting new people with similar interests.

`You have good points both, especially new people with similar interests. I look into that. I had good time on that festival, there were young people and they had more common with me than random people from work.
I chat with new girls and met girl friends (not girl-friends) around city. I have chilled with boys too, but they mostly get drunk and no chicks in group so it gets silly.
I spent all my $$$, so I have to earn it more. At new work I discovered connections with my shcool studies and it gave some cool ideas. With these ideas I will find people with same interests.
These ideas aren't secret, it's idea how to automate cable harnes production. So I draw on paper shcemes how machine should look like, and it was challenging. I lack tools to make prototype of it, so I get $$$ to move on with project.
There is tv show in history channel who's host told he believes in ordinary people like us power to change things. I do like people who like to try and invent something new. It shows they are like me, not giving up. Important is to try creating something, it does not matter will it be art, inventions or systems (virtual and real life). That means they are thinking, keeping their instincts sharp and ready.
There is that saying that don't search and then things come to you. I think it assumes you have good picture of yourself and how you look to others in everyday situations.
Sometimes you have limited options and within these options you have to find your way of life.
