Someone to connect with who not only understands that not everyone can be an extrovert, but has perhaps actually gone through it themselves, or is going through it. That "shy" people, if that's the word for it in all cases, have a different set of attributes and qualities to bring to the table, and may require the support of other like-minded people. And is freely willing to give that support to the other as well. But also, someone who likes a stimulating exchange of ideas, likes to laugh, appreciates incredible phenomena like peace, the beauty of nature, music that touches the soul, etc.
