Hi, my name is Laura. I'm 31 years old, and live in Leicester. I work in a primary school, which I absolutely love.

My interests include reading, cinema, going to music festivals/gigs and going to watch live comedy. I also love animals.

I'm very, very shy when meeting new people, which can make things difficult. Once I get to know people though I'm fine and can be quite chatty and even loud at times... my family and friends often say they can never get a word in edgeways! I have a good sense of humour and like laughing and making others laugh too.

I'm a bit of a bookworm; I always have a book on the go and did my degree in English Literature. I would miss books more than tv if I had to do without either.

I've joined this site mainly to chat to others who may feel a bit out of their comfort zones at times in social situations. I am sociable, and enjoy going to pubs etc, but prefer small groups of well known people to large crowds.

I'd like to get chatting to people to try to get to know them and see if we have anything in common to develop a friendship or relationship, as this is an easier way to do it initially rather than face to face.
