Understanding The big problem I frequently encounter when I am around somebody who doesn't know me very well, is that they misunderstand my quiet and shy nature. Their have been situations in which I feel awkward because I think I am making someone else feel awkward by not talking enough. It is nice when a person understands why you are quiet, a person who is generally quiet themselves; somebody who understands that you are being quiet simply to be quiet, and not because you dislike them; somebody who understands my strong feelings against large social gatherings and parties! It is not common to find somebody who understands what it is like to be shy.
