I try to be a decent person and treat women as human beings, which tends to get me 'friend-zoned' pretty quick. I haven't given up hope though (I'm a hopeless romantic at heart), which is what brings me here. I'm fairly shy at first, but I'm pretty good at opening up once I get to know someone. I like to talk and I like to listen. I'm a bit of a geek (ok, a lot of a geek
) so most of my interests are at-home kinds of things: reading, computers, videogames, etc. My family and friends mean everything to me. Some of my happiest times are just having dinner with my friends and enjoying their company. I like animals, though I don't have any pets myself. I like children, which is probably a good thing since I'm trying to get back to school to become a teacher. I'm a naturally affectionate person. I can be sarcastic and have a rather dark humor at times, but that mostly comes from wishing I could do more to make the world a better place. I'm empathetic and compassionate, which gets me in trouble but also has gotten me a lot of great friends. I'm not a very jealous person unless someone tries to play me or lie to me. Flirting is fun, but I don't play games with other people's hearts. (I've spent too many years cleaning up the damage from other people doing that to my friends.)I'm looking for someone I can open up to and enjoy spending time with. Someone I can curl up on the couch and watch a movie with. Someone I can out to dinner with and listen to her talk about her day. Someone I can buy flowers for, just to see her smile. A serious relationship would be nice, but not something I would want to rush into.
