I am naturally a shy and reserved person. I've learned to be extroverted and reach out in some circumstances (e.g., professionally, teaching, etc.), but I am much better one-on-one or in small groups. And when in comes to dating, whew! It's hard to reach out, and it's hard to feel judged by more extroverted potential partners who can't accept me for who I am. But I am a great person! And I am slowly discovering I prefer the company of someone who is also more on the shy side rather than extremely outgoing, or at least who feels a strong need to have a close and loyal partner. I am working on my Ph.D. in entomology. I study diversity of a group called owlflies. I have about 6 months left in my program and I have started looked for work. I enjoy what I do: research, fieldwork and teaching. I am excited to finish and move on the next chapter of my life, whatever that may be.
Grad school keeps me pretty busy but what I really enjoy are outdoor activities: rock climbing, hiking, camping, running, etc. I like to exercise, eat right, be in shape, be active. I also like movies, eating out, and travel. I have traveled all over the world for my research. Oh, and I enjoy photography.
I am an honest person. I am very sincere and patient. I am reliable and loyal. I value those qualities in others. I can be quiet and reserved, but I also like to laugh and make others laugh too.
I'm looking for a companion and partner, who shares my goals and at least some of my interests, to go though life together.
