I am pretty shy but not. I am not the type to try to pick up a man in a bar, or to strike up a conversation with someone first other than a hello as I pass by. This will get you either one of two responses usually; a return hello, or they act like they are deaf mutes and don't say anything and look away. I said hello to a woman that came up and stood next to me the other night at a neighborhood tavern. She looked at me and smiled like she was afraid her face would crack if she really let loose with a genuine smile, or possibly like she was in immense pain. My feelings were not hurt by this however because anyone who is so stuck on herself that she cannot enjoy life and be civil? She just ain't worth knowing. That is okay with me. They are the less evolved of our species. I personally am looking to meet the more enlightened among us. You know the ones that believe everyone deserves respect and to be treated with dignity? I am a pretty good conversationalist and so when I am approached by someone I can usually hold my own. Hope you are all having a wonderful day out there in webland.
