Massive Introvert I'm not sure that shyness is the word for me. I'm an introvert to an almost crippling degree, and I would really love to overcome that.

I don't know exactly what fuels my fear of interpersonal contact, but I'm terrified of it. I feel so afraid of being rejected by a person that often, I'll never make a move, and I fear that that terror will cost me what could be some very beautiful friendships, or possibly even great loves.

When I do start to get to know someone, I find that I am much better suited for as small a group as possible, with one on one contact best. Otherwise I will become intimidated and hide away in my defensive shell.

It's a shame though, because I know that I have a lot to offer in the terms of both love and friendship, but I have such a frustrating hurdle that I need to overcome.
