I'm a 19 year old college student at Allegheny in PA, majoring in neuroscience. I've been "off and on" in the dating scene for years now, and haven't found anyone looking for a lasting relationship yet.

I'm not looking for a "cutesy" high-school relationship, as I've been through enough of those to know they're disappointments waiting to happen.

In terms of what I'd like from this site, I'm looking for that "magical" online dating relationship, like those stories of how two people met online and ended up getting married years later. Long-distance isn't really a problem for me....but there needs to be something else besides text chatting for that to work with me (webcam, phone, etc).

The ideal girl for me would be someone who lives nearby (MD/PA area), has shyness issues (so we can relate and grow closer), and is willing to wait. I can't tell you how many times I've put all my cards on the table for someone to have them give up on me because they couldn't deal with waiting.
