yeah, this is the tough part. if i wasn’t such an introvert, 2000 characters would be supper easy, but here we are. for many years now, i’ve been reading and listening to audiobooks and hopefully gaining a better understanding of who i am and what i really need to be happy and fulfilled. acceptance of my self and others. trying hard to be more clear and honest with myself and others. just because i can muscle through something doesn’t mean i should. just because it seems to make other people happy doesn’t mean it will do a damn thing for me. and here’s the kicker, despite my introversion and contentment with chilling with my dog and cat in the evenings, i’m still human and need that connection to other humans. just recently heard someone say, “we all crave intimacy, emotional intimacy.” and damn it he was right! so here i am. some basic facts about myself: eyeglass wearing female in my 40’s. i live with my anxious dog and super clingy cat. i’m an engineer. recently gotten back into reading. enjoy training the pup. what am i looking for? a human connection. someone willing to take it slow. test the waters. grow together. learn from each other. find that emotional intimacy we’re all apparently looking for. decades ago i was in a hardware store with my parents. they were buying something like lumber together. i looked at them and thought “i want that some day”
