` I wish I could say the same.
I'm rather stewwped myself.
Intelligence is a major turn on to us guys ( even if we can't relate and it makes us feel like idiots . )
Good luck finding the group that you seek.
I think you might want to also post in the ausperegers ( sp ) syndrome forum.
A lot of folks there are highly intelligent from what i understand.

Well, I think this site is a good start! Have you tried an online game site with a chat window so you can talk to your opponents and make a few friends that way too? (I like to play scrabble, so I like Lexulous.com). Also, I like joining groups for specific things I'm into, and then going to a few events and looking forward to exploring the place and activities once I get there. If you're psyched, for example, over the extreme coolness of camping in your own tent at a music festival, being dressed up (and in disguise!) at a medieval faire, competing with other braniacs at a chess tournament, or wandering around a sci-fi convention looking for your favorite captain or villain--you won't have a lot of time to spend on feeling self-conscious, and you'll probably find, at the end of the day, that you've made a few friends without really trying!). But don't fixate if you do go out and sometimes just end up not meeting anyone at all or spend all your time alone--it gets easier everytime, and every group and event is going to be different. And, if you happen to be into nerdy things, chances are that everyone there will be some degree of dorky anyway, and will probably be just as shy as you! (some of us have just gotten a little better at hiding it, through practice!) ; )

`I guess just chat/talk with anyone you can as much as you can.
Myself I try to make small talk with anyone to help get over my shyness. It takes a lot of effort though and many times I just don't bother. I end up sitting by myself at parties talking to the dog. Usually have an ok time anyway.

`I'm going through the same thing and looking for the same.
It just it happens when I least expect it and when I think about it.
I am not usually shy, just a little but not as it is now where I have to take
medicine.
We will get over sooner or later, it just take time and patience as I learned.
Keep in touch

Bye
